Afternoon: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

🌟 Your Guide: Charles Phoenix
Pop-culture humorist, historian, and preservation advocate Charles Phoenix — famous for his Retro Slide Shows, bestselling books, and entertaining tours — will lead you through Claremont’s hidden architectural treasures. With his signature wit and deep love for mid-century design, Charles will bring the “Preserving the Recent Past” theme to life in unforgettable fashion.
🚌 About the Tour:
Both Tours will meet at the Claremont Lewis Museum of Art 200 West First Street, Claremont, CA 91711 - Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the tour.
This luxury bus-driven/walking tour will visit key sites showcasing Claremont’s modernist architectural legacy. You'll explore homes and landmarks (inside and out) designed by some of the most renowned architects of the postwar era, including: Millard Sheets, Edward Durell Stone, Richard Neutra, Fred McDowell …and other visionary designers who helped shape the city’s unique mid-century character.

Prepare for a day of fun, discovery, and light walking! Please wear: Comfortable, sturdy walking shoes; Layered clothing to accommodate changing weather; A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (if sunny); A light jacket or umbrella (if rain is possible)
