The stone house was built in 1935 by builders Parker and Gamble of Pasadena, the architect was Robert H. Ainsworth also of Pasadena. The home was built for the Patterson sisters who purchased the 40 acre tract north of Foothill and south of Baseline off Monte Vista Ave. from Sarah Bixby Smith in 1932.
Now restored and adaptively reused as an event space for the Claremont Club, this home is a good example of preservation at its best - saving a historic structure that was once threatened with demolition.
$75/person includes a tour of this historic home.
